Making of Goatnet

Introducing the Goatnet CRDNTL

The CRDNTL is a quintessential value for Goatnet members

What is a CRDNTL?

For the most part, events we attend and recall that feature an elevated experience include what’s known as a credential. These can be badges that become collectibles, ultimately, or they can be tossed or screenshots or expired wallet items.

We view a credential differently. We don’t believe it should disappear, be disorganized or a one-off paper product in a memory bank. What a credential is supposed to do is grant access and reflect a purpose for the holder in a fortunate setting.

We also believe it doesn’t need vowels.

Goatnet is a platform designed to present members with useful involvement. We needed to provide people who are part of the community a place that respects their authenticity, their unique footprints and ambitions. Plus, their stories as they evolve, their Goat reflections and data points that serve to enrich the user experience.

CRDNTL is the soul of Goatnet. Its all about you.

CRDNTL conveys who you are, what you wish to share, when you want activity publicized, where the journey might go, the why in your world and how you associate with great attractions.

WHO

CRDNTL enables a member to have a valid profile. This includes profile flix, which are video segments in which users generate assorted responses to prompts they deem worthwhile. Submissions by members and about members build over time, with approvals, so a sortable biography is constructed.

Initially, we will keep this simple. The last thing we want is an overwhelmed base of early adopters. The beauty is, together, we get to define how features should work. Back in the day, there was a TV show called This Is Your Life. There also was a weekly item in Sports Illustrated called Faces In The Crowd. Today, there are documentaries and sitcoms that capture pearls of wisdom (and hi jinx) from characters of all kinds. And viewers are riveted.

We believe Goatnet users’ profile flix have great potential as an innovative blend of the aforementioned successes. How each member ticks could prove valuable in terms of brand opportunities and in that customer realizing the relevance of her or his story in progress. You’ll have questions. So will we.

WHAT

We aren’t going to start right away with a Wild West of user generated spit posting. Once we’ve progressed sufficiently with certain launch features, we will introduce bleats, which is the sounds made by Goats, which will be fitting for everybody on here. That said, we aren’t a place for vitriolic or extremist takes. We’re pretty sure there already are too many of those in existence. What we are about are vetted pursuits and attributes. This is to say, we will craft, through member input, surveys that resonate about personal favorites, stuff that represents reactions and tastes, people, places and things. It’s a welcoming way to cross reference greatness and to identify common ground shared among members.

You’ll see those who agree to disagree that Michael Jordan was better than LeBron James, that Die Hard was a Christmas movie, that a hot dog is not a sandwich. You’ll learn that A Fish Called Wanda and Trading Places are among the best comedies ever made. You’ll discover who prefers streaming over cable over satellite. You’ll see who has taste in music and who doesn’t. You’ll see which charities are near and dear, which businesses and brands are doing a lot right. You’ll see who likes Brussels sprouts, asparagus and chickpeas (as if that’s possible). And you’ll see which vacation spots, colors and pizza toppings you have in common with people more and less famous than you.

You’ll learn which album to have on the deserted island (assuming there’s power and a turntable, naturally) and you’ll learn what three wishes to request from the genie.

The point is, what you share is your business. Of course, sharing is caring. And we are convinced Goatnet users are the caring kind.

WHEN

A recording artist has concerts, recording sessions, festivals and rehearsals. An athlete has games, a draft, a college signing, a transfer portal, free agency. A chef or mixologist has hours, establishments, tastings and appearances. A show or film has pitches, auditions, table reads, production, post production, premieres and release windows. People have speaking engagements. Legends have memorabilia shows, golf tournaments. Everybody plays pickle ball. The point is, we all have a lot going on. And stats galore. That information belongs to you. Your fans may want to see it. We give you the way to show it, for keeps or in small bites. Your Time Machine. Your decision.

While we may or may not need to post pictures of our lunch or our sure-to-be-first-rounder and Olympic-gold-medalist offspring, on CRDNTL, there will be an intuitive way to display available schedules and material that discloses WHEN a member is going to be in a setting that the member considers notable for public or filtered consumption, even in the form of notifications if welcome.

WHERE

OK, this doesn’t have to be literally about a physical location. There’s a book “Oh, The Places You’ll Go,” which, to our knowledge is not banned. It’s a standard gift for newlyweds or graduates, and it’s about the promise that journeys can, should and often do have. We are so about that. CRDNTL is where members display the Attractions to which they are attached. Attractions are intellectual property (lawyer catch phrase), better known as movies, scripted series, episodes, documentaries, ancillaries, songs, records, shows, productions, live events, leagues and ventures. The bottom line is, the programming and ideas we support, participate in and track say a lot about us.

Goatnet is about getting great ideas brought to life. A CRDNTL is in part like a college football player’s helmet. You know, the ones with the stickers on them for great plays made or all kinds of meaningful, merited milestones. Attractions and the channels in which they live are ways for Goatnet members to assure a feed of updates that’s relevant, for correspondence with the communities they enjoy. More than that, it’s a wallet or, better yet, a stack of chips that demonstrates what members want to put their names on. Literally, their names can go in the credits for a movie or TV franchise, on a sports enterprise, on stuff that lives on Goatnet or is made available on other platforms and/or in the form of live events.

CRDNTL is where credibility is stockpiled, sure, but more meaningfully, where a creative compass meets street-smart savvy. That means, it’s where users can ride shotgun in director’s chairs of their own, learning from their Goat list (G-list, we call it) of people they respect or at least choose to track.

The places to go are endless.

WHY

We love to learn about causes through community. You may or may not love “It’s A Wonderful Life” (spoiler alert: I love it). But there’s no denying that the way the town rallied for George when he had reached the presumed end of his rope was inspired. Real world examples are everywhere. We make a difference by publicizing bouts with diseases, with hardships, with urgent needs and opportunities to pitch in. CRDNTL is a place where every user has a way to amplify awareness, to link to other relevant resources, to showcase their passions, to demonstrate compassion. The human condition includes generational responsibility, recognition that our impacts have permanent potential. By all means, the why that we sense and refine through time deserves a place that encourages elegant opportunities to update, share and preserve our purpose.

HOW

How you use Goatnet isn’t our call. We want you to make the most out of having a CRDNTL. Goatnet doesn’t exist to hog the spotlight. It is about the membership and respecting users’ rights. We firmly believe that life and business are team sports. That’s why we take very seriously the opportunity to connect people in the pursuit of greatness. So, while CRDNTL is the soul of Goatnet, Attractions are the heartbeats. The heartbeats fuel life for many moving parts.

One of the first things we’re asking of members is for them to choose Attractions that align with their interests. They don’t have to buy into them necessarily. They just need to join one or more. The more the better. But also - and this is big - we ask them to float their Goat. In other words, we value our members’ ideas.

A friend once had an idea for a movie stolen. It got made and was a hit. That’s Hollywood, the friend said, resigned. It doesn’t have to be. We aren’t here to disrupt Hollywood or any other 800 pound gorillas. We are here to modernize them. The world is better when its inner workings are visible, when people have a fair shake to participate.

CRDNTL isn’t a class system. It isn’t a subjective assessment. There’s a commercial, voiced over by Morgan Freeman, about a quarterback possibly being the next Tom Brady. Only, it concludes beautifully, the QB honestly isn’t that at all. The truth is the same for every last one of us. We are phenomenally unique. You are the one and only you.

Be sure to share your important story. There’s nothing else like it. You’ll find that it’s made up of many scenes and that your experiences intersect with infinite others. Imagine for a moment your take about seeing something amazing and that take at a minimum being part of the bonus features of another life or subject. There’s a story you should Google about Charles Barkley showing up at a man’s funeral in Asia. He and the man had become friends because of a chance meeting in a hotel bar. The family didn’t know. But then they did. It brought tears of absolute life affirmation.

Get a CRDNTL. Making people cry is optional.
